Nothing says romance like a California wedding nestled in the rolling hills of Santa Ynez, CA. Kestrel Park is a private venue tucked in these hills and served as the perfect backdrop for this California wedding. Kristy and Jared hired the ladies at Event of the Season to help bring their modern black tie wedding to life. Because of these ladies, every detail was perfect and came together for an effortless combination of modern elements and organic textures. Kristy was the sweetest bride and was so excited about the outcome she had her wedding featured on some of her favorite blogs, Carats and Cake and Style Me Pretty.
We love creating florals for modern weddings because the combinations of textures and flowers that we get to choose from make the dreamiest combinations. We typically look for greenery that has harder, cleaner lines to allude to the lines often used in modern design and an abundance of delicate blooms with dark tones for contrast. The anemones in these pieces are my favorite because they are so vibrant and make such a statement in a piece while still remaining neutral in their color palette and elegant in their presence. Anemones and I have not always gotten along but we worked through some of our misunderstandings about each other during this design process and we grew to appreciate each others quirks. I now have a new found love for these blooms and will definitely be using them again soon!
Another important aspect of a successful design is choosing a photographer who has an eye for details. Tanya, of Tenth and Grace, has an impeccable eye and captured each delicate bloom and every modern detail in such a way that brings the event to life all over again and will for years to come!
